Annabelle Epstein

Hailing from New Jersey with a new studio in Brooklyn, we'd been following Annabelle's work for about a year before we picked it up for our collections. Deeply compelling, emotionally raw & charged, formally abstract but substantially grounded in the actual facts of the lives of her own ancestors, and hence, connected to its own past, just like all great jewelry artists. It's not just the fact that, for some pieces, she literally puts her own flesh & blood into the metal as a stamp (that shit is real people), a sign of where it's from woven into the work itself. It's also the fact that her work is visceral -- it begs to be experienced as a maze of nooks & crannies in texture & form.
